I took my second roll antique shopping with my ma, Colleen. She knows a lady named Renslow who she keeps in good business. It was a short adventure but full of timeless pieces for me. It’s funny the things you don’t want to buy once captured in a photograph; uniquely burnt onto a piece of film in authentic transaction, a node of currency. It felt like purchasing stories instead. My shutter clicked and clacked back like a cash machine drawer.
My mother had many rooms furnished in many ways from Renslow’s antique goods, with an overflow in my parent’s storage.
My brother in-law, Ryan, once made an impeccable joke. Outstanding.
He advised my mother to open a store next door to Renslow’s, who had survived on the trade of antique and used goods for decades now… and he advised her to name it Colleen’s Renslow’s.
